Autumn Poem

Birds of Harmony

This poem was inspired by the sunsets in Arizona. This piece is about the season of Autumn. It talks about the change that the earth goes through as its progressing through the transition between winter and summer. This was one of my favorite poems because it’s about nature.

Sun rises

Sun sets while the fields are stripped

And nothing is left.

Forced to migrate as the earth changes course along

With the birds.

As the leaves begin to rust orange,

Trees grow lonesome, until the birds sleep near.

As the birds begin to carol, the irresistible

Melody surrounds my constant thoughts of

The golden sunlight. It sits above the clouds.

They suffer the dark, and empty wrath of

The unexplainable tension.

Tension of living on the edge of life and death,

Green and brown.

With the blink of an eye

the birds abandoned something they once knew.
